It makes use of the user-adjustable Accu-Trigger. The Impulse carries over some of Savage’s most popular bolt action features, including everything Accu. In addition, the bolt handle is threaded to receive aftermarket knobs and the threaded barrel offers ample options for brakes and suppressors. This makes the platform truly accessible for left-handed hunters. One of the most interesting possibilities with a straight-pull bolt action is the ability to swap the bolt handle from right to left. The Savage Impulse is fully customizable right out of the box. Barrels can be swapped in the field, which allows caliber changes and the tool-less removal of the floating bolt head. In addition to speed and accuracy, there are numerous benefits to the Impulse and its action. There’s also an integral 20 MOA optics rail machined into the receiver. Each is built on an aluminum receiver with an integrated barrel extension and a carbon steel barrel. The Impulse platform was designed to be modular and customizable. When a round is fired, the ball bearings tighten relative to the pressure increase and provide a robust and secure lockup. When the Impulse’s bolt handle is closed, six solid ball bearings are forced outward into locking recesses that are machined in the barrel extension.
